Argus Filch and Walder Frey go top of the class at Repton!
One of the nicest guys in show business will explain how he coped with playing not one but two evil villains in the two biggest cult dramas of the past decade – in Repton later this month.
York-born David Bradley is one of over thirty class acts at this October’s Repton Literary Festival. On stage, he will talk to his long-time friend and fellow Aston Villa fan, former club director Tony Hales CBE, about his life on TV, on stage and in film.
An anticipated sell-out audience will learn how the Olivier Award-winning actor honed the role of villain to perfection, first as Hogwarts’ evil caretaker Argus Filch and more recently as the cruel, grouchy and sadistic Walder Frey in Game of Thrones.
“Woe betide any member of the audience who dares to step out of line,” laughs Tony, who confirms that you won’t meet a nicer man in show business. “Anyone expecting pure evil is going to be disappointed. But we can promise that the hour-long session, like all the more than thirty separate events at the three-day festival, will be enlightening, and great fun.”
David is also well known for his cameos in the high ranking comedy movies Hot Fuzz and The World’s End, starring alongside Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
David and Tony will be performing in the 400 Hall Theatre in Repton at 10am on Saturday 26th October. Details and tickets for this and all other events are available via the Box Office.
This is one of over 30 talks and workshops at the festival.
